WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - The Wake Forest track and field team wrapped up the first day of competition Friday at the Raleigh Relays hosted by N.C. State in Raleigh, N.C. The event includes competing schools from all over the country including Penn, Michigan State, Georgia and Bowling Green.
Friday Results
Men
1,500m Run Invitational
Junior Kyle Graves captured a fourth place finish crossing the line in 3:45.91. Senior Alexander Rose placed sixth (3:46.46)and freshman Simon Holden placed 14th (3:50.53).
Shot Put
Junior Steve Michaelsen placed 18th with a mark of 15.20m.
Disus
Steve Michaelsen threw for the Deacs securing a 13th place finish with a mark of 48.41m.
Long Jump College
Senior Michael Mastanduno secured a 39th place finish with a mark of 6.13m.
1,500m Run College
Sophomore Ryan Horgan placed 27th (4:00.08) and freshman Alex Giacco placed 33rd (4:01.08).
5,000m Run Section B
Sophomore Garret Drogosch placed 24th with a time of 14:45.16.
5,000m Run Section C
Senior Connor Crowley captured a sixth place finish (14:26.23) and senior Tom Finneran placed 15th (14:43.58).
5,000m Run Section E
Sophomore Kent Garrett crossed the line in 15:11.76 with a 12th place finish.
Women
1,500m Run Invitational
Freshman Kathryn Lazarchick led the Deacs securing a 33rd place finish crossing the line in 4:34.71. Sophomore Samantha Jones placed 44th (4:37.25) and junior Kaitlyn Oliver placed 50th (4:38.01).
Shot Put
Freshman Casidy Callahan placed eighth with a throw of 12.76m.
High Jump College
Freshman Amy Collins placed 20th in a two-way tie with a mark of 1.60m.
Long Jump College
Senior Erika Martin placed 19th in a three-way tie with a mark of 5.37m.
1,500m Run College
Tessa Riley crossed the line in 16th place with a time of 4:41.79 and freshman Marie Johnston placed 20th with a time of 4:42.11.
5,000m Run Section C
Freshman Ellie Abrahamson placed 15th crossing the line in 17.43.74.
The Deacs will be back in action on Saturday in the second day of the Raleigh Relays beginning with the 10,000m at 9 a.m. and the field events beginning with the men's hammer at 11 a.m.
