Wake Forest will host No. 4-ranked Duke on Wednesday in Winston-Salem when the Demon Deacons hold Senior Night to honor Travis McKie and Coron Williams.
Tip-off is scheduled for 7 p.m. at the LJVM Coliseum. The game will be broadcast nationally on ESPN2 and online on WatchESPN. It can also be heard on the Wake Forest IMG Sports Network.
Last Time Out
Wake Forest is coming off an 80-72 setback to Boston College on Saturday in Winston-Salem. After the Deacons rallied back from a six-point halftime deficit to take the lead, the Eagles responded with eight straight points to regain control.
Four of the five Deacon starters had double-figure scoring days, led by Travis McKie and Devin Thomas with 18 points apiece. Thomas scored 12 of his 18 points from the free throw line, sinking 12-of-16 attempts.
In addition to McKie and Thomas, Coron Williams scored 13 points and Codi Miller-McIntyre added 10.
Boston College went 32-for-42 at the free throw line; both totals were a high for a Wake Forest opponent this season.
Wake Forest had its second-best game of the season from the free throw line, converting 26-of-32 attempts (81.3%).
Wake Forest Storylines
Wake Forest will honor senior Travis McKie and graduate student transfer Coron Williams in a pre-game ceremony on Wednesday.
The Deacons will be trying to finish off a home sweep of their in-state rivals, looking to beat Duke, North Carolina and NC State at home for the first time since the 2008-09 season.
This marks the first season since 2003-04 that Wake Forest has had home-and-home series with all three in-state rivals.
Coron Williams ranks 18th on the school's single-season 3-point field goal list with 57. He is trying to become the first Deacon with 60 3-pointers in a season since Justin Gray in 2006.
Series History
Duke leads the all-time series with Wake Forest 163-77. The Blue Devils have won eight straight meetings, including last month in Durham.
The Wake Forest-Duke series is the oldest in the ACC, dating back to the 1906 season.
The series is also the league's most frequently played, as it is in its 241st all-time meeting.
With the recent ACC expansion, Wake Forest and Duke are now annual rivals who will play twice every season. The Blue Devils replaced Georgia Tech as one of Wake Forest's two rivals, along with NC State.
Next Up...
Wake Forest will wrap up the regular season on Saturday, Mar. 8, at Miami for the Deacons' only meeting with the Hurricanes this season.
The Deacons upset the No. 2-ranked Hurricanes 80-65 last season, handing eventual ACC champion Miami its first conference loss of the year.
The 61st annual ACC Tournament begins on Wednesday, Mar. 12, at the Greensboro Coliseum in Greensboro, N.C. The official bracket and seedings will be announced by the league office on Sunday, Mar. 9.
