Deacs Travel to Atlanta to Face Georgia Tech
Wake Forest travels to Atlanta this weekend to play Georgia Tech for the first ACC series of the 2014 season.
The Deacs will travel to Coastal Carolina and then will play ECU in Wilson, N.C. next week to finish up the roadtrip.

Last Time Out
Evan Stephens went 4-for-4 with three RBIs as Wake Forest downed VMI 9-3 on Wednesday night at Gene Hooks Field at Wake Forest Baseball Park.
Matt Conway who went 2-for-3 with two RBIs including his second home run of the season. Will Craig also went 2-for-3 with two RBIs while Jimmy Redovian and Charlie Morgan each recorded an RBI.
Connor Johnstone started the first game of his career and turned in a gem on the mound for the Demon Deacons. The freshman went five innings and only gave up a single in the first inning. He also had four strikeouts, no walks and no earned runs in 15 batters faced for a total of 58 pitches.
Last Time Out
The Wake Forest bullpen currently has an ERA of 1.82 for the season while opponents are batting .194 against the Deacon relievers in 2014. The bullpen went five straight games without giving up a run.
Wake Forest has four walk-off victories this season with last at-bat victories over Marshall, Davidson, Missouri and Stony Brook. Nate Mondou has two of those walk-off hits including a solo home run against Marshall.
Wake Forest played the majority of the month of February at home in Wake Forest Baseball Park. To begin the season, 12 of the first 13 games of the season are at home.
The Opposition & Series History
Georgia Tech leads the all-time series with Wake Forest 34-67-1.
Last season, Georgia Tech took the first two games of the series before the Deacs defeated the Yellow Jackets 8-6 in the series finale.
Kevin Jordan had a great series in 2013 against Georgia Tech as he went 4-for-8 at the plate and hit his first home run of the season off of Georgia Tech ace Buck Farmer. He was also able to steal a pair of bases.
Thomas Smith has nine RBIs to lead Georgia Tech offensively while Matt Gonzalez has seven.
Starter Cole Pitts is 1-0 with a 1.80 ERA in three starts.
Next up...
The Deacs head to Coastal Carolina on Tuesday and will play at Pelicans Stadium, home of the Myrtle Beach Pelicans. Wake Forest will then travel to Wilson, N.C. to face ECU at Fleming Stadium.
