
Demon Deacons Take Fourth in Kernersville

KERNERSVILLE, N.C. – Paced by a seventh-place finish by Alex Giacco, the Wake Forest men's cross country team posted a third-place finish its lone home meet of 2015, the Wake Forest Invitational, Friday afternoon at the Ivey M. Redmon Sports Complex in Kernersville, N.C.
Giacco finished the 8K course with a time of 25:12.71, the third-best time of runners attached to a school.
The Deacs finished behind George Mason, Charlotte and Appalachian State in the 18-team race.
Friday marked the second time this season that Giacco led the way for Wake Forest. The Wilmington, Del. native placed 52nd at the UVA Panorama Farms Invitational on Sept. 26 to led the team.
Following Giacco to complete the scoring five were Sebastian Fischbach in 19th, Simon Holden in 35th, Evan Little in 42nd and Kent Garrett in 64th.
After a week off next week, the Demon Deacons will head to Tallahassee, Fla. Oct. 30 for the ACC Championships.
