Fahmy Finishes 17th at Royals Challenge

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – The Wake Forest women's cross country team had three runners compete at the Royals Cross Country Challenge at McAlpine Creek Park in Charlotte, N.C. Friday afternoon. A total of 37 teams and 324 runners competed in the 5K race.
With only three-student athletes representing the Demon Deacons, the team did not record a score.
Junior Sarah Fahmy headed Deacs with a 17th-place finishing, posting a time of 18:48.8. Freshman Isabelle Harouche crossed the finish line three seconds later to sneak inside the top-20, coming in 19th.
Senior Kendal Knous placed 72nd.
Before beginning postseason competition with the ACC Championships on Oct. 30, Wake Forest will host the Wake Forest Invitational at the Ivey M. Redmon Sports Complex/Cross Country Course in Kernersville, N.C. next Friday afternoon.
