Deacs Set for Royals Cross Country Challenge

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. -- Following a three-week break, Wake Forest is back in action this weekend, as the men's and women's teams head to Charlotte on Friday for the Royals Cross Country Challenge, hosted by Queens University of Charlotte.
The men's 8k race will begin at 4:30 while the women will hit the starting line of the 5k course at 5:15 p.m. McAlpine Creek Park, the site of Friday's meet, is known as a flat, firm and fast course.
The men's side will send Nicholas Raefski, Alex Delgado, Jack McGowen, Alex Turner, Peter Millsaps and Andrew Fea. Fea is the lone junior in the lineup which also features three freshmen and two sophomores.
The Demon Deacons will send out one senior, one junior, two sophomores and two freshmen in their third meet of the season. Senior Gabrielle Merritt will anchor the team that will include Lara-Ann Schwede, Beatrice Boyland, Kaitlin Derry, Kathryn Kenwood, and Isabelle Harouche.
