TULSA, Okla. -- Wake Forest stayed perfect at the main draw of the ITA All-American Championships on Friday, recording three more singles win and another doubles victory to improve to 8-0.
Heading into the round of 16 in singles action, Wake Forest is the last remaining program with three student-athletes still in the winner's bracket. Only Arkansas, Ohio State and Texas have two apiece.
Qualifier Christian Seraphim, who entered the tournament unranked in singles, recorded a straight-sets upset over a seeded foe, Kentucky's No. 15-ranked William Bushamuka, 6-4, 6-4.
Sixth-seeded and eighth-ranked Petros Chrysochos cruised to a 6-3, 6-1 victory over UCLA's No. 38-ranked Gage Brymer.
Skander Mansouri, seeded fifth and ranked seventh, rounded out singles action by topping Oregon's No. 105-ranked Thomas Laurent, 6-4, 6-4, by erasing a 3-0 second-set deficit.
Wake Forest dropped its first set of the main draw in doubles action, but still came out on top. The third-seeded and third-ranked duo of Mansouri and Seraphim took down an ACC pairing in No. 33 Jack Murray and Ronnie Schneider of North Carolina, 6-3, 5-7, 1-0 (10-4).
