Deacs Travel North to Chipotle Marshall Invitational

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. -- The Wake Forest men's and women's track and field teams are set to resume action this weekend as they compete in the Chipotle Marshall Invitational in Huntington, W.Va. on Friday and Saturday.
Events begin at 5 p.m. on Friday and 9 a.m. on Saturday.
Both Demon Deacon squads are slated to compete in 13 events of the course of the weekend. The meet is the second for the Deacons away from Winston-Salem and is the second and final home meet for the Thundering Herd.
Wake Forest is coming off a solid showing at the Virginia Tech Doc Hale Elite Meet The Deacons won four event titles and had eight additional competitors with top-five finishes.
Sydney White broke her own school record in the women's indoor pole vault with a mark of 4.20m to win that event. Simon Holden won the men's mile, clocking in at 1:49.51 and the Demon Deacon men's and women's 4x800m relay teams both earned first place finishes.
On Feb 19-20, the Deacs are scheduled to send competitors to the Virginia Tech Challenge in Blacksburg and the UCS Invitational in Winston-Salem.
