Molina to Compete at South American U23 Championship

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. -- Jessica Molina, a freshman on the Wake Forest women's track & field team, will travel to Lima, Peru on Wednesday for the South American U23 Championship.

The U23 Championship will run from Friday, September 23 through Sunday, September 25 and will be held at Stadium Atletico. The finals of the women's shot put, Molina's lone event, will take place on Saturday evening at 5 p.m. local time (6 p.m. ET).

Molina, a native of Westwood, N.J., was a seven-time letterwinner in indoor and outdoor track & field at Westwood Regional High School. A two-time team sectional state champion and a two-time All-American in the shot put, Molina was ranked No. 14 in the world in the U17 shot put in 2015.

Molina is a member of Ecuador's U20 world team and has a career-best throw of 49'10" (15.18m) in the shot put.
