Deacs Primed For NCAA Tournament
• Wake Forest earned the No. 1 overall seed in the NCAA Tournament for the first time in program history and begin tournament play on Friday, May 12, against UNCW. at 5 p.m.
• Kentucky and Georgia State meet in the other first round match of the Winston-Salem Regional. The winner of the two matches on Friday will face each other on Saturday at 5 p.m. to play for a spot in the Round of 16.
Last Time Out
• The Demon Deacons nearly repeated as champions of the ACC, as Wake Forest was edged by Virginia, 4-3, in the final match of the ACC Men's Tennis Championship.
• The Deacs' defeat in the title match followed a pair of 4-0 victories over NC State and Georgia Tech in the quarterfinals and semifinals, respectively.
NCAA Individual Qualifiers
• Following the completion of the team championship, four individuals were selected to participate in the NCAA Singles and Doubles Championships.
• Petros Chrysochos, Borna Gojo and Skander Mansouri all earned bids into the singles draw while Mansouri and Christian Seraphim earned a doubles bid.
• Chrysochos is the No. 5 seed and earned the ACC's automatic bid while Mansouri (No. 9-16) and Gojo each earned at-large bids. Mansouri and Seraphim enter the doubles tournament as the No. 4 seed.
• Mansouri and Seraphim are making their third doubles appearance, setting a new program record for most NCAA appearances by a doubles team.
• Chrysochos and Mansouri are making their second-straight appearance in the singles filed while Gojo, as a freshman, is in his first-ever singles draw at the NCAA Championship.
All-ACC Deacs
• Four Demon Deacons were recognized by the league's coaches, as Petros Chrysochos, Borna Gojo, Skander Mansouri and Christian Seraphim all claimed All-ACC accolades.
• Chrysochos, Gojo and Mansouri were named first team All-ACC while Seraphim was tabbed third team All-ACC.
• Wake Forest's four honorees were second-most in the league while the three first team recipients were the most in the ACC.
First-Time Champs
• The Demon Deacons won the ACC regular season title outright on Sunday, April 23, with their victory over Notre Dame.
• It marks the first time in program history that Wake Forest has won the ACC regular season title.
• Wake Forest's 12 ACC wins are the most in program history, topping the previous program-best of 10 wins, set a season ago.
Streakin' Deacons
• Wake Forest's loss to Virginia on April 30 snapped a 19-match winning streak dating back to February 25.
• The streak is a program record for most consecutive wins in a season, topping the previous record of 15 set by the 1997 team. That team started the season 15-0 before finishing with a 17-2 record.
