The Matchup
• Wake Forest hits the road this week, taking on a ranked foe for the first time this season as the Deacs play at No. 16 Coastal Carolina on Tuesday and Wednesday.

• The Demon Deacons earned a weekend sweep over Furman, winning by scores of 13-7, 5-1 and 11-2.
• Wake Forest's starting pitchers combined to allow just one run over 19.0 innings. Jared Shuster led the way with 7.0 innings of one-hit ball, striking out a career-high 12 batters as he earned ACC Co-Pitcher of the Week honors and was named a Collegiate Baseball national Player of the Week.
• Bobby Seymour led the offense with three-straight multi-hit games, totaling four doubles last week. He leads the team with a .375 average and 18 RBIs.

• The Demon Deacons return an experienced group in 2019, bringing back eight of the nine position starters and two-thirds of the weekend rotation. Last year, Wake Forest had the fifth-most starts from freshmen in the country, with five rookies making more than 35 starts each. The Deacs return 88 percent of the team's hits from last year (437/499), as well as 71 percent of the innings pitched (366.1/515.1).
• Wake Forest boasts three of D1Baseball's top-100 college draft prospects for the 2019 MLB Draft, including Friday starter Morgan McSweeney (No. 58), Saturday starter Colin Peluse (No. 88), and draft-eligible sophomore outfielder DJ Poteet (No. 100).

• Coastal Carolina leads the all-time series over Wake Forest, 20-17, including a two-game sweep last year.
• The Chanticleers are a consensus top-25 team, entering the week with a 10-2 overall record after defeating No. 25 Illinois, UConn and Indiana in a tournament over the weekend.
