AUSTIN, Texas- Sam Halvorsen and Danielle Konopelski are set to compete in the 2019 NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships hosted by the University of Texas, which get under way Wednesday (June 5) at Mike A. Myers Stadium.
Both Demon Deacons will begin competition on Thursday, June 6. Konopelski will compete in the women's javelin throw at 9:15 p.m ET, and Halvorsen will follow with the women's 10k meter final set for 10:38 p.m ET.
Konopelski threw a personal-best 49.50 in the javelin to finish 12th at the East Region Preliminaries last week. With her latest performance, Konopelski jumps back into second-place all-time in school history in the event.
Halvorsen, a 2018 outdoor All-American in the 10k, earned her second consecutive bid to nationals in the event. She qualified with a personal-best time of 33:32.32 for an eighth-place finish at the East Region Preliminaries.
