Winston-Salem, NC – After 33 days without a game, the Wake Forest men's basketball team will make their return to the court against the Catawba Indians on New Year's Eve.
Tip-off is scheduled for 3 p.m. at Lawrence Joel Veteran's Memorial Coliseum and will be broadcast live on ACC Network.
The Demon Deacons are wrapping up their abbreviated non-conference slate after going 2-0 over Thanksgiving in the Mako Medical Wake Forest Classic, with wins over Delaware State and Longwood at LJVM Coliseum.
Catawba is a member of the South Atlantic Conference (D-II) and are currently 2-3. They are led by head coach Rob Perron, who is in his seventh season at the helm of the Tribe and are coming off a 20-10 season that saw them finish third in the SAC.
Deacon Nation can also follow along via the Wake Forest men's basketball Twitter and Instagram accounts (@WakeMBB).
New Debuts
After missing the first two games, sophomore forward Ody Oguama will make his season debut against Catawba. Oguama averaged 15 minutes per game last season for the Deacs.
Carter Whitt, a four-star point guard originally in the class of 2021, has enrolled early and joined the team last week. The Raleigh, N.C. native is the ninth-highest rated recruit in program history and the highest rated recruit of the Steve Forbes era.
