Wake In Search of Road Victory Thursday at Clemson

The Demon Deacons have won 10 of the last 12 games in the series including a 63-58 win in January

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – The Wake Forest women's basketball team is back on the road Thursday night when it travels to Clemson.
 
The Demon Deacons (12-12, 5-8 ACC) will be in search of the season sweep after defeating the Tigers at Lawrence Joel Veterans Memorial Coliseum in January. Ivana Raca recorded a double-double, going for a team-high 24 points and 10 rebounds.
 
The Tigers (7-17, 3-10 ACC) have lost six straight games including their last two home contests. Redshirt junior guard Kendall Spray has attempted more three pointers than any other player in the ACC and averages 2.58 threes made per game.

Tipoff for Thursday night's game against the Fighting Irish is scheduled for 7 p.m. (ET) at in Littlejohn Coliseum. The game can also be seen on ACCNX.

AMONG THE NATION'S ELITE
With 33 assists in the last six games games, Gina Conti now has 126 assists on the season and is averaging 5.3 assists per game.

The Grove City, Ohio native now ranks 15th in the nation in total assists and 22nd in the country in assists per game.
 
She needs just three assists to move into seventh in program history in assists.

  • The Demon Deacons nearly battled all the way back from a 17-point deficit on Sunday before late free throws from the Yellowjackets put the game away at the end. Wake was as close as four points with 2:37 left in the game.
    • For the fourth consecutive game, senior Alex Sharp led the Deacs in both points and assists, dropping in 16 points to go along with nine rebounds.

  • Ivana Raca helped Wake Forest to its fastest start in conference play since the 1987-88 season. She posted her second double-double of the season with a then career-high 24 points and a game-high 10 rebounds.
STANDOUT STAT
On Sunday afternoon against Georgia Tech, the Demon Deacons became the 11th program in the country to grab more than 1,000 rebounds this season.

Their 1,003 rebounds this season ranks second in the ACC, just three behind NC State.

NEXT UP
The Demon Deacons return to LJVM Coliseum on Sunday afternoon when they square off against Virginia Tech.

It will be Legacy Weekend as Wake Forest welcomes back all former players, coaches and their families for a weekend with the current Deacs squad. Wake will also be celebrating National Girls and Women in Sports Day.
