Demon Deacons Host Miami and Florida State in Weekend Matchups

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - The Wake Forest volleyball team is set to host the Miami Hurricanes and Florida State Seminoles in a pair of weekend matches that will stream live on ACC Network Extra.
 
The Deacs' are coming off an impressive weekend at home as they swept Notre Dame in three sets for the first time in program history last Friday and snapped No. 2 Louisville's 27-set win streak on Sunday when they took the third set of the match, 25-21.
 
Statistically, Wake Forest has remained inside the top 10 in multiple categories since the start of the season. They are fourth in the league in service aces, with 1.60 per set. They are tenth in kills (12.91/set), seventh in hitting percentage (.245) and seventh in blocks (2.32/set).
 
Grad transfer Kamryn Malloy leads the team in total kills for the season, tallying 228 through 19 matches. She has also amassed 147 digs, which is second on the team, behind libero Kalani Whillock (237). She leads the team with an average of 3.35 kills per set and is currently ninth in the league in points (3.84/set). Her 3.35 kills/set is good for 10th in the league. Senior setter Andrea Fuentes is fourth in the Atlantic Coast Conference in assists per set, with 9.97/set through 67 sets. She has tallied 668 helpers through 19 matches, which is third-most in the league. She is also seventh in the league in service aces, averaging 0.28/set.
 
The Matches
The Deacs will face the Hurricanes Friday night at 7 p.m. and the Seminoles Sunday afternoon at 1 p.m. in Varsity Arena. Both matches will stream live on ACC Network Extra.
 
Series History
MIAMI
Miami leads the series, 22-6. The last time the Deacs beat the Hurricanes was Nov. 9, 2018, in Winston-Salem.
 
FLORIDA STATE
Florida State leads the series, 36-7. The last time the Deacs beat the Seminoles was Oct. 22, 2010, in Tallahassee, 3-0.

Fan Information
Admission into Varsity Arena in Reynolds Gymnasium is free for all Wake Forest students and volleyball spectators. In accordance with city and state regulations, masks are required at all times while indoors on the Wake Forest University campus.
 
Wake Forest Athletics works closely with Wake Forest University, Forsyth County and state officials to follow COVID-related guidelines for the safety of fans in attendance at all venues. While proof of vaccination is not currently required for spectators, we encourage vaccinations for all. We are proud that nearly 100% of Wake Forest Athletics student-athletes, staff and coaches are vaccinated, as required under University and Athletics policy. Last Time Out
The Wake Forest volleyball team snapped the Louisville Cardinals 27-set win streak last Sunday afternoon in a four-set battle in Varsity Arena. The Deacs were led offensively by Kamryn Malloy, Ashley Slater and Andrea Fuentes. Malloy tallied a match-high 18 kills and Slater notched 10 while Fuentes orchestrated the offensive with 31 assists. Kalani Whillock registered a match-high 12 digs. Annabelle Daly and Fuentes were right behind her with eight and Malloy chipped in six. Chloe Wilson finished with a match-high five blocks.
