Banthia, Schnaitter Triumphant in ITA Carolina Regional Doubles Championship

CARY, N.C. – Wake Forest senior Siddhant Banthia and graduate Jakob Schnaitter defeated North Carolina's Casey Kania and Logan Zapp in the 2021 ITA Carolina Regional Championship doubles match to punch their ticket to the ITA National Fall Championship.
After defeating Van Sambeek, F / Rocens, M of NC State in Monday's semifinals, Banthia / Schnaitter was set to compete against Casey Kania and Logan Zapp of UNC in the title match. Banthia / Schnaitter cruised to a straight set 6-1, 6-2 victory for the title.
Junior Taha Baadi outlasted Andrew Zhang in the opening set of the singles title match 7-5, but the Duke Blue Devil rallied to record back-to-back 6-1 victories in the final two frames for the win.
Banthia / Schnaitter will next travel to San Diego, Calif., on Nov. 4-7 for the ITA National Fall Championships.
