Wake Forest Wraps Up ITA Men’s All-American Championships

TULSA, Okla. – Filippo Moroni's run ended in the main draw round of 32 to complete Wake Forest's competition at the ITA Men's All-American Championships.
Moroni was one of only two to advance to the main draw from the pre-qualifying draw, which began on September 22nd. Moroni advanced out the 256 pre-qualifying and 256 qualifying draws to play into the main draw of 64.
Moroni picked up seven wins in the pre-qualifying and qualifying draws to punch his ticket into the main draw of the All-American Championships. The sophomore defeated No. 19 Tyler Stice of Auburn in the round of 64 on Tuesday but soon dropped his first match since September 22nd when the tournament began.
Juan Lopez de Azcona and Matthew Thomson each clinched a single victory in the pre-qualifiers before getting knocked out in the round of 128.
UP NEXT
Wake Forest will head to Durham for the ITA Carolina Regionals from October 22-26.
