
Wake Forest Visits Miami and Virginia Tech in Final Regular Season Matchups

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - The Wake Forest volleyball team (15-12, 6-10 ACC) will finish off the regular season traveling to Coral Gables, Florida and Blacksburg, Virginia this week. The Deacs will face off against the Miami Hurricanes (23-4, 14-3 ACC) in Miami on Wednesday at 3 p.m.
On Friday, the Deacons will finish off the regular season facing off against the Virginia Tech Hokies (11-18, 2-15 ACC) in Blacksburg, Virginia at 6 p.m.
Statistically, Wake Forest has remained inside the top 10 in multiple categories since the start of the season. They are fourth in the league in service aces, with 1.48 per set. They are ninth in kills (13.05/set), eighth in hitting percentage (.236) and eighth in blocks (2.27/set).
Senior setter Andrea Fuentes surpassed 4,000 collegiate assists this past week. Fuentes is currently fifth in the Atlantic Coast Conference in assists per set, with 9.97/set through 95 sets. She has tallied 947 helpers through 27 matches, which is fourth-most in the league. She is also fourth in the league in service aces, averaging 0.35/set.
Freshman libero Kalani Whillock is fourth in the league in digs per set, averaging 4.01 through 95 sets. Her 381 total digs is sixth in the league. Boston College's Anna Murphy has a league-high 432 digs through 111 sets.
Grad transfer Kamryn Malloy plays all six rotations for the Deacs and leads the team in total kills for the season, tallying 339 through 27 matches. She has also amassed 216 digs, which is second on the team, behind libero Kalani Whillock (381). She leads the team with an average of 3.53 kills per set. She is currently sixth in the league in points (4.11/set) and her 3.53 kills/set is good for eighth in the league.
The Matches
Wake Forest will travel to Miami for a Wednesday 3 p.m. match and then travel to Blacksburg to face off against the Hokies on Friday night at 6 p.m. Both matches will be televised on ACC Network Extra.

Miami - Miami leads the series, 23-6. The last time the Deacs beat the Hurricanes was Nov. 9, 2018 in Winston-Salem.
Virginia Tech - Virginia Tech leads the series, 14-34. The Deacs beat the Hokies in their last meeting on Nov. 4 in Winston-Salem, 3-1.

Last Time Out
In the final home match of the season, the Wake Forest volleyball team defeated the Boston College Eagles 3-0 to win on Senior Day and send their three seniors out on a high note. The Demon Deacons (15-12, 6-10 ACC) won both their matches this season over Boston College (15-16, 5-12 ACC) marking the first time Wake Forest has swept the Eagles since 2010. The win also clinched the program's first winning season since 2010. Two Demon Deacons recorded double-digit kills. Delaney McSweeney recorded a match-high 12 kills, while teammate Kamryn Malloy tallied 10 of her own. The Wake Forest offense was paced by Andrea Fuentes and her 36 assists. McSweeney also finished the match with a match-high .857 hitting percentage. Olivia Franke led the Deacs on the net with five solo blocks and six total blocks. McSweeney and Malloy were right behind her with five and four blocks, respectively. Defensively, Malloy led the Deacs with 14 digs and freshman Kalani Whillock tallied ten.
