Three Demon Deacons Ready for ITA National Fall Championships

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – Wake Forest men's tennis players Taha Baadi, Siddhant Banthia and Jakob Schnaitter are ready to compete in the ITA National Fall Championships, which will be held November 4-7 at the Barnes Tennis Center in San Diego, Calif.
Baadi, a junior from Quebec, Canada, is playing in singles, which will begin Thursday, Nov. 4, with the round of 32. Baadi is slated to face Mason Beiler of Oklahoma at 2:45 p.m. ET. The Demon Deacon was an automatic qualifier into the Championships by finishing as the Runner-Up at the ITA Carolina Regional.
Banthia and Schnaitter were invited as automatic qualifier doubles participants to the Championships, claiming the title out of the ITA Carolina Regional. They defeated Casey Kania and Logan Zapp of North Carolina in dominant fashion, 6-1, 6-2. The duo will begin play on Friday, Nov. 5, in the main draw round of 32. The pair are slated against Dario Huber and Victor Moreno Lozano of Nebraska, playing at 6:30 p.m. ET.
The ITA National Fall Championships is the grand finale of the fall collegiate season and will feature the top 32 singles players and 16 doubles teams. This is the fifth edition of the tournament as it replaced the ITA National Indoor Intercollegiate Championships in 2017.
