
Nava, Squire Ends Run in NCAA Singles and Doubles Championship

ORLANDO, Fla. – Eduardo Nava and Henri Squire ended their run at the NCAA Singles and Doubles Championship on Monday, as Nava fell to UNC's Rinky Hijikata and the duo was downed by the No. 1 Tim Sandkaulen and Finn Reynolds of Ole Miss.
Nava, who made it to the Round of 32 for the first time in his career, is the 14th Demon Deacon to advance past the Round of 64.
Senior Nava and sophomore Squire dropped their opening doubles round to the No. 1 team in the country, Sandkaulen and Reynolds, 6-3, 7-5.
Eduardo Nava
Nava finished the season with a 18-4 record in singles, including four ranked wins with two of those against top-20 foes. He was 4-0 in three-set matches and ended the season with 12 consecutive wins. He earned Second-Team All-ACC and was one win shy of claiming All-American achievement.
Henri Squire
Squire became the ninth Demon Deacon since 2007 to enter the event seeded. Squire also became the fifth rookie Demon Deacon to nab the ACC Freshman of the Year accolade for Wake Forest and it marked his first All-ACC award of his career. The Düsseldorf, Germany native, finished with his First-Team All-ACC season with a 17-7 singles record with eight of those wins over nationally ranked opponents.
The Tandem
In doubles, the duo ended the season with a 13-6 record and rose as high as No. 8 in the rankings, finishing with four ranked wins. The best win of the season came over then-No. 20 Garrett Johns and Sean Sculley of Duke.
