Wake Forest Opens 2022 Dual Slate with Doubleheader against Tennessee Tech

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – The 10th-ranked Wake Forest men's tennis team opens up its 2021 dual slate with a Sunday home doubleheader against Tennessee Tech.
First serve for the opening match is set for 12 p.m. ET, while the afternoon cap match is slated to start at 4:00 p.m. ET, both from inside the Wake Forest Tennis Complex.

SCOUTING TENNESSEE TECH
The Deacs are 4-1 against the Golden Eagles in a series dating to 1971, with three of those victories since 2016. The last time the programs met, the Deacs dismantled the Golden Eagles 7-0.
RANKED DEACS
Finding themselves in the singles rankings were Filippo Moroni (75), Jakob Schnaitter (85), Taha Baadi (100) and Robert Maciag (117). In doubles, Siddhant Banthia was ranked twice as Banthia and Schnaitter were at No. 19, Maciag and Ben Draper were No. 26 and Banthia and Juan Lopez de Azcona claimed No. 50.
STREAKING DEACS
Throughout the fall individual tournaments, Wake Forest has compiled an overall singles record of 64-20 (.761) and a doubles ledger of 47-19 (.712).
The Deacs have been led by Siddhant Banthia and Filippo Moroni who are tied with the most combined wins at 19 aapiece. Banthia held a 11-1 mark in doubles while Moroni boasted a 16-3 record in singles.
FAN INFORMATION
Beginning with Wake Forest's men's basketball game against Duke on Wednesday, Jan. 12, all patrons ages 12 and older will be required to show proof of COVID-19 vaccination OR a negative COVID-19 PCR or rapid test taken within 48 hours of the event in order to attend any indoor athletics event, including matches at the Indoor Tennis Center.
Prior to entry, fans must:
Individuals who cannot provide proof of vaccination or a valid negative COVID-19 test according to the conditions outlined above will not be allowed to enter Wake Forest Athletics indoor events.

"We are all working together to persevere through this recent surge in COVID cases, especially in consideration of the pressure faced by our healthcare system and workers," said director of athletics John Currie. "This additional step for Wake Forest indoor athletic events is consistent with the updated protocols for the spring semester outlined by Provost Rogan Kersh and Executive Vice President Hof Milam's recent message to the University community on Dec. 29."
For Sunday's match against Tennessee Tech, proof of vaccination is not required for spectators. Face masks are required and must be worn during all home indoor athletic events for all patrons and working personnel. Individuals will only be allowed to lower their masks while actively consuming food and beverage.
