Women's tennis continues to shine at home.
WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - Giving off a collective, energetic feel to be back in match action, Wake Forest women's tennis dominated during its final home doubleheader of the 2022 regular season, defeating Furman University (6-4) and North Carolina Central (0-4) on Saturday (Feb. 19) in 5-2 and 7-0 decisions, respectively.
Match one against the Paladins took place outdoors before the competition was moved inside to finish the afternoon.
No. 38 Carolyn Campana stood out in taking a ranked win over No. 62 Julia Adams of Furman. Additionally, Anna Brylin stayed undefeated in her season solo record, bumping up to 6-0 this year.
Wake Forest's 7-0 sweep was its third of the spring campaign. All such feats have happened on the team's own court.
The Deacs' 5-1 record at home is their best start since the 2018-19 season.

From the Head Honcho
"It was a good day for us," said head coach Jeff Wyshner. "The weather was really difficult, but we did a good job of making the best of it, and not making excuses. Peyton and Saby were clutch in coming back to win the doubles point for us against Furman. Carolyn and Sam dominated their singles so that we then just needed one of the others, and Casie and Anna both came through. We're excited to get to the Blue Gray Classic next week."
Up Next
Next week will see Wake Forest travel to Montgomery, Alabama for the annual Blue Gray National Tennis Classic. The event will take place Feb. 25-26.
