In singles, Carolyn Campana notched her most significant win of 2022 thus far, knocking off No. 9 Jaeda Daniel in a heady, three-set showing. It was the senior's second career victory as a Deacon over an Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) top-10 opponent.
The match score was tied at 1-1 after NC State won in fifth singles on a second-set tiebreaker. Four Deacs found themselves competing in third sets within their respective matches: Brylin, Killingsworth, Carolyn Campana, and Casie Wooten.
After winning in third singles, the Wolfpack took its first lead of the day, 2-1. Killingsworth had an answer moments later, taking a three-set win in sixth singles and tying the scoreboard up yet again, 2-2. Campana's patient victory on court one gave Wake Forest another slight edge. Nevertheless, NC State tied the afternoon up for the third straight occasion in second singles. The Wolfpack ended off a three-set rally on court four to clinch the victory, 4-3.
