Good Evening Demon Deacon Nation!

Let's Go! As I type this edition of From the Quad, our field hockey squad is on the Kentner Stadium's turf scrimmaging North Carolina and tonight at 7 p.m. at Spry Stadium we start counting for real as Coach Tony da Luz and our women's soccer program launch the regular season against Milwaukee! You can also watch live on ACCNX as our in-house crew, led by James Overstreet, will be producing the first of over 40 Demon Deacon contests they will showcase to the world this fall alone! Come check out the Deacs in beautiful Spry Stadium - season and individual game tickets are on sale for as low as $5 per game. Additionally, seating on Walt Chyzowych Hill is free and first-come, first-serve for both men's and women's matches!

While we remember last year's successes illustrated in this 2021-22 Year in Review, which was expertly produced by our in-house communications team, our fall sports teams have been hard at work and our staff is excited to provide the Best Fan Experience in North Carolina at all our venues! From the gridiron, to the weight room, to the pitch, and to the turf, Demon Deacons programs are ready to compete at the highest level this fall and keep building upon the incredible successes we experienced a year ago. Summer has also included special memories like men's basketball's trip to three countries across Europe and volleyball's team-bonding trip to Boone for whitewater rafting.

Among the fans in Spry tonight will be many members of the Wake Forest class of 2026 who arrived on our beautiful Reynolda campus yesterday and were assisted by 242 student-athletes and 54 coaches and athletics staff who volunteered to help move Wake Forest freshmen into their residence halls!

Crisp Lane is Here
On Monday night, the Winston-Salem City Council formally approved Wake Forest University's recommendation to name four roads on the Reynolda Campus in honor of trailblazing professors: Elizabeth Phillips, Dolly McPherson, Marjorie "Marge" Crisp and Herman Eure. The deeply thoughtful process that led to this historic announcement was led by Wake Forest's Advisory Committee on Naming. It is so appropriate and special for Wake Forest Athletics that the approach road to Demon Deacon golf's Haddock House and Dianne Dailey Learning Center is now named in honor of Marge Crisp, a true trailblazer for Wake Forest golf and women's athletics!

Opportunity Awaits! Innovative & Affordable Football 4-Pack Ticket Deals Moving Fast
You have until midnight tonight to purchase your $59 4-pack football tickets for Opening Night of your No. 22-ranked Wake Forest football team two weeks from today at 7:30 p.m. Our trademark 4-pack single game deals will remain available for Opening Night on Thursday, Sept. 1, Liberty on Saturday, Sept. 17, Boston College on Saturday, Oct. 22 and for Senior Day against Syracuse on Saturday, Nov. 19 at an increased price. Buying and sharing a Deacons four-pack is a great way to thank someone who is important to you and share the Best Fan Experience in North Carolina. Additionally, it helps us build on the home field advantage that has helped Demon Deacon football to a 15-2 record over the past three years inside Truist Field!

Season ticket sales are on a record pace, with some areas like Deacon Hill, Chairback Premium, Touchdown Club and Eastside Club already sold out. New or existing ticket holders can visit GoDeacs.com/Tickets to learn more about packages or call the Wake Forest Ticket Office at 336-758-3322 ext. 1 during normal business hours for more information.

For Demon Deacons fans from afar - remember the  'One More Rule.' We have a great home schedule, so get your old roommates together and attend one more game than you did last season. Think about it, if you came to one, then come to two. If you saw the ACC Atlantic and Gator Bowl Champion Demon Deacons live three times in 2021, make it four this fall!

Speaking of gameday, there are great opportunities for community members to be part of the action as a member of our Truist Field hospitality and operations staff and the Best Fan Experience in North Carolina. Athletics' partner, Rhino Sports & Entertainment Services, currently has openings for gameday part-time staff for home football games this fall. Additionally, for those looking for an all-inclusive, turnkey tailgate experience before a home game, exclusive tailgate packages through REVELxp are available and can be reserved now

Stay tuned to GoDeacs.com and @WakeFB on social media for more fan enhancement announcements, including the return of the Deacon Walk!

Saying Goodbye to Two Special Deacons
Earlier today, our former women's basketball coach Charlene Curtis passed away after an extended illness. You can read our announcement about Coach Curtis' trailblazing life here as she was an inspiration to everyone who knew her, living her life with grace and courage,

And last week we lost a loyal and dedicated Wake Forest Athletics colleague, Greg Evans, who tirelessly worked behind the scenes to promote Demon Deacons student-athletes and programs in his role as a Broadcast Engineer. Greg was a 2005 graduate of Wake Forest and a 2010 graduate of Elon University School of Law. On Saturday afternoon, we were honored to attend a special celebration of Greg's life in Welcome, N.C with his mother Melody, father Albert, brother Brian and many family, friends and his Wake Forest fraternity brothers clad in Demon Deacons gear.

Good luck to all the Deacs this weekend, continue to send me your comments and ideas to me at wfuad@wfu.edu, and...
