Quotables
Head Coach Jennifer Averill - "I'm really proud of our team. We got out early on Cal and it's nice to then allow ourselves to settle into the game. There were moments where Cal exposed us and we will learn from that for sure. I really liked our ability to counterpunch those scary moments and have great success.
"Our outletting is great. We're a really fortunate team. We have the ability to break lines. We have Sky who can chuck it overhead with her deception. It's great to see individual improvement as well as team concepts coming along."
Up Next
The Deacs then head home to Kentner Stadium for the team's final non-conference home match of the month against Richmond on Friday, Sept. 16 before playing three-straight road contests at Ohio State (Sunday, Sept. 18), North Carolina (Friday, Sept. 23) and App State (Sunday, Sept. 25).
