
No. 17 Wake Forest Hosts Richmond, Travels to No. 23 Ohio State this Weekend

Wake Forest heads into the fourth week of the season on a three-match win streak, outscoring opponents 18-2 in those victories. This marks the most goals scored in three-consecutive matches since the 2017 season (18 goals, Oct. 1- Oct. 8).

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – The No. 17 Demon Deacons return to Kentner Stadium on a three-match win streak for their final home match of September against Richmond on Friday, Sept. 16 before heading back on the road for a non-conference contest in Columbus against the No. 23 Buckeyes on Sunday, Sept. 18.
Friday's matchup between Wake Forest (3-2) and Richmond (3-2) inside Kentner Stadium is set for 4 p.m. and will be streamed live on ACC Network Extra.
The Deacs and Buckeyes (3-1) hit the turf on Sunday at 1:00 p.m. The match can be viewed on Big Ten Plus with a paid subscription.

Wake Forest owns a 13-6-1 all-time record against Richmond. The Deacs and Spiders faced each year from 2013-21 excluding the shortened COVID season in 2020.
The Deacs hold an all-time record of 5-3 against Ohio State, with their last matchup coming last season after five years. This marks just the third time Wake Forest will hit the turf in Columbus.

Wake Forest earned its third-straight win and a perfect west coast weekend with a 6-1 effort at Cal.
The Demon Deacons' early offensive attack was led by Meike Lanckohr and Grace Delmotte as the pair added unassisted goals in the first period before Lanckohr found Delmotte in the second quarter to give the Deacs a 3-0 lead at the intermission break.
After the Bears found the scoreboard in the third quarter, Wake Forest used the combination of three unanswered goals off penalty corners and stifling defense in the final 29 minutes to secure the 6-1 victory.
Lanckohr, Ashley Hart and Sky Caron netted Wake Forest's trio of fourth quarter scores to clinch the win.
Overall, the Deacs dominated the ball in the final period with eight shots and seven corners.

Grace Delmotte currently sits as the conference leader in assists (6) and assists per game (1.00). The junior dished out a career-high tying two assists in back-to-back matches against Lafayette and UC Davis before notching an assist in her third-straight match against Cal on Sunday. Delmotte played for Field Hockey Canada's 2022 Women's World Cup roster. Delmotte was one of 18-athletes selected to represent Canada in the country's first World Cup appearance in 28 years. Canada defeated Team USA for the bronze medal at the 2022 Pan American Cup to qualify for the World Cup. Delmotte was one of four recent graduates of Team Canada's Junior National Program to land on the World Cup roster. The junior earned her first senior cap in her first World Cup action on opening night against Spain. On July 7, Delmotte found the back of the net to put Canada 1-0 just five minutes into its match against Argentina.

All-American Meike Lanckor was named the Atlantic Coast Conference Offensive Player of the Week on Tuesday. Lanckohr earned the second conference player of the week nod of her career after leading the Deacs in a perfect 2-0 weekend on the Wake Forest's West Coast road trip with a team-high 12 points, netting a team-high five goals and two assists. The senior currently leads the league with 1.20 goals per game while tying for third in overall goals (6). Lanckohr received All-America and All-ACC first team accolades for the second-straight season in 2021 after posting a team-best and career-high 20 points with a career-high nine goals and two assists in 2021. Overall, the Voerendaal, Netherlands native finished tied for second in the ACC in goals, while ranking third in points per game (1.54).

Lee Ann Gordon competed with the U-21 Field Hockey US Women's National Team squad in the Uniphar 5-Nations Tournament in Dublin, Ireland as Team USA took home a bronze medal. On July 26, Nat Friedman was named to the 2022-23 U.S. Women's National Team, heading to Charlotte for training camp on Sunday, July 31-Thursday, Aug. 4.
