Haas and Haberer Finish in the Top-15 at The Bank of Tennessee Intercollegiate

Freshman Kyle Haas and Tom Haberer claimed career-high finishes at The Blackthorn Club.
JOHNSON CITY, TENN. - Freshmen Wake Forest men's golfers Kyle Haas and Tom Haberer claimed their highest finishes of their young careers at the Bank of Tennessee Intercollegiate Tuesday in Johnson City, Tenn.
In his last appearance, Haas finished just outside the top-25 when he tied for 26th at the J.T. Poston Invitational. After an impressive round two at the Bank of Tennessee Intercollegiate, Haas continued his strong play into the third round.
Haas ended the tournament shooting 2-under-par. The Winston-Salem native claimed his highest finish tied for 12th in his third collegiate appearance at The Blackthorn Club.
Sophomore Boyd Owens made his third appearance of the fall at the Bank of Tennessee Intercollegiate. Owens tallied nine birdies over the course of the tournament with four birdies in the third round.
In his fourth appearance this season, Haberer secured the highest finish of his young career. The freshman rose 15 positions during the final round of play in Johnson City.
During round three, Haberer tallied three birdies and an eagle and shot a 68 (-4). The Bad Salzdetfurth, German native finished tied for fifth shooting 4-under-par over the entire tournament.
Haberer secured the highest finish of his career at the Bank of Tennessee Intercollegiate and his second-straight top-25 finish.

"Thank you to Mr. William B. Greene Jr. for hosting the Bank of Tennessee Intercollegiate for the past 25 years. Bill is a distinguished alumni of Wake Forest University. Bill also played for the Wake Forest men's golf team during his time as a student. I want to thank him for allowing three of our players to compete in this tournament. Also, great performances from Tom who finished tied for fifth and Kyle who finished tied for 12th. These two freshmen had a great tournament and both made career low finishes."

The Demon Deacons will compete in their final event of the fall at the Golf Club of Georgia Collegiate hosted by Georgia Tech. The Golf Club of Georgia Collegiate will be held at the Golf Club of Georgia - Creekside Course from October 13-15.
