Wake Forest Set for ITA Carolina Regionals

The Demon Deacons are looking to build upon a strong opening to the 2023 fall slate.
WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – Following a stellar showing at the ITA All-American Championships, the Wake Forest men's tennis team will hit the courts for the ITA Carolina Regional this week in the penultimate tournament of fall play.
Play will run Oct. 20-24 at the Cary Tennis Park. Live scoring will not be available for the tournament and draws can be found here when finalized. In total, 137 players will compete at the single-elimination regional tournament.
Last Time Out (ITA All-American Championships)
The Wake Forest men's tennis team recorded several strong performances at the ITA All-American Championships two weeks ago.
The doubles pairing of DK Suresh Ekambaram and Holden Koons led the Deacs as the duo reached the quarterfinals of the doubles main draw.
Senior Luciano Tacchi also had an excellent showing during the annual tournament as he reached the round of 32 in singles after being one of only 16 individuals to reach the main draw through the qualifying rounds.
2022 ITA Carolina Regionals
At last year's tournament, the Deacs recorded a 10-9 record in singles main draw action and a 7-4 mark in doubles play for the tournament. The Demon Deacons were led by Matthew Thomson and Luciano Tacchi as they reached the round of 16 in doubles and reached the round of 32 in singles action, individually.
ITA Preseason Rankings
In the latest Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Preseason Rankings, Wake Forest had three singles players and two doubles pairs ranked.
