
Deacs Remain On the Road for Pair of Big Four Matches

In-state trips are up next for Wake Volley!
WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – Having reached the latter slate of its ongoing, two-week road stretch, Wake Forest volleyball (16-7, 7-5) is set to step into its second and third Big Four outings of the regular season this week. The Demon Deacons will first visit Duke on Friday evening (Nov. 3) before traveling to Chapel Hill for a Sunday early-afternoon matchup at North Carolina (Nov. 5).
Both matches will be streamed on ACC Network Extra.
The Deacs have reached a third straight year of at least six Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) wins and back-to-back seasons of seven or more conference wins for the first time since 2009-10.
Six matches remain within the team's 2023 regular-season schedule.

Beginning the start of its final month of regular-season play, Wake Forest handled things in Charlottesville, Virginia, last Friday night (Oct. 27), downing the Virginia Cavaliers in a 3-1 victory.
It was Wake Forest's seventh straight win over Virginia in the all-time series history.
Emmy Ogogor was a bundle of energy, ultimately reaching a new career high in kills with 17 on the evening. The fifth-year middle blocker's total led all individuals and she chipped in three blocks as well.
Emma Farrell had a star performance of her own, totaling a match-high 25 digs for a new personal-best mark of 2023. It was the sophomore libero's fourth performance of 20 or more digs this fall.
Paige Crawford and Ava Carney added 11 kills apiece. Friday featured the 10th time this year in which Wake Forest has had three or more players register double-digit numbers in kills.
Setters Rian Baker and Kylie Adams tossed out 21 and 18 assists, respectively.
Ava Torrance and Kalani Whillock chipped in nine digs apiece.
With the win, Wake Forest moved to 5-2 on the road this year.

Wake Forest volleyball (16-7, 7-5) finished its weekend in Fitzgerald Field House on Sunday afternoon (Oct. 29), visiting No. 7 Pittsburgh (20-3, 11-1). The Demon Deacons pushed hard in their overall effort on the court but fell in a 3-0 defeat.
Playing back in her hometown, freshman outside hitter Ava Carney led Wake Forest in kills (12). It was her 12th performance of 11 or more this fall. Paige Crawford and Olivia Fish had five each.
Emma Farrell paced all individuals in digs (13). The sophomore libero has tallied 10 straight showings of 10+ in that category.
Rian Baker finished with a team-best 21 assists while Kalani Whillock chipped in six digs. Emmy Ogogor went 4-of-8 on attacks with zero errors (.500 hitting percentage), adding two blocks.
Wake Forest is 5-3 in road matches this year.
Emmy the Energizer
Fifth-year middle blocker Emmy Ogogor has remained an active and steady piece for the Deacs, continuing leading the roster in total blocks (77.0) and being third in kills (199). The San Antonio, Texas, native is also the most efficient starter within the team, holding a .338 attacking percentage. Reaching a new personal high in kills this past weekend, Ogogor is nearing 850 kills and 400 blocks in her career.
