Wake Forest Extends Lead Heading into Final Round of Schooner Classic

Four Deacs are looking to finish inside the top 10.
NORMAN, Okla. - The Wake Forest women's golf team leads the 15-field team by 14 strokes ahead of the final round of the Schooner Classic at Belmar Golf Club.
Freshman Macy Pate paced the Deacs in the second round with her lowest collegiate round so far. She started the day with three-straight birdies on the first three holes and went on to record two more before the turn. She went bogey-free with nine straight pars on the second nine holes to finish the day five-under and six-under for the event. She will start Monday's final round tied for fourth and just two strokes off the leader.
Junior Carolina Chacarra maintained a high leaderboard position during Sunday's second 18 after her clubhouse-leading seven-under in round one. Three birdies in her second round helped keep her in contention. She will begin Monday's final round one stroke off the lead at seven-under.
Senior Mimi Rhodes recorded a second-round 67 to put her inside the top 10. After making the turn at even par, three birdies on her second nine helped her finish the day three-under. Graduate Rachel Kuehn also jumped up the board in the second round, carding a one-under 69 on her second 18. After making the turn also at even par, two birdies on her second nine helped her finish under par for the day. She is also inside the top 10 heading into Monday's final round.
Freshman Brooke Rivers and sophomore Anne-Sterre den Dunnen, who is playing as an individual, are both tied for 32nd in the 84-player field and sit at three over par heading into the final round of play.
Final Round
Monday's final round will begin with tee times starting at 9:30 a.m. ET. Wake Forest will be paired with Virginia Tech and Florida State. Official tee times will be announced once they are made available. Live scoring is available via Golf Genius.
