- Women's Basketball:
- Despite a strong defensive performance and another big game in the post from redshirt sophomore forward Malaya Cowles, the Wake Forest women's basketball team dropped the ACC opener, 73-61, at No. 22 Florida State Sunday afternoon.
- The Demon Deacons limited the Seminoles to their second-lowest season point total as the Noles came into the game averaging 86.0 points per game, ranking 11th nationally. Wake Forest also forced 15 turnovers which was four more than Florida State's season average. The Seminoles ranked eighth in the country in turnovers per game coming into the contest.
- On the offensive end of the floor, the Deacs were led by another great post performance from Cowles as she tallied a team-high 16 points on 7-of-13 shooting while also pulling down four rebounds and tallying two assists.
- Graduate guard Alexandria Scruggs suited up in her 130th career game on Sunday, tying her for the most games played in a Wake Forest career.
- She has a chance to break the record on Thursday when the Demon Deacons host No. 13 Virginia Tech. Tipoff is scheduled for 6:00 p.m. tipoff at Lawrence Joel Veterans Memorial Coliseum.

- Track & Field/Cross Country:
- After getting off to a strong start to the 2023-24 indoor season in December, the Demon Deacons will return to action on Friday, Jan. 12, traveling to Blacksburg, Va. for the Virginia Tech Invitational.
- At the Visit Winston-Salem College Kickoff last month, Emma Douglass, Amanda Schaare and Robbie Grace took home gold for the Deacs.
- With a 15.26m shot put, Schaare landed with the fifth best indoor shot put in Wake Forest history.
- Grace ended the day with the sixth spot on the Wake Forest all-time indoor long jump list with a 5.89m long jump.
- Additionally, Anna Bush ran a 8.67 60m hurdle for a second place finish and the fourth spot all-time at Wake Forest.
- At the Sharon Colyear-Danville Season Opener, Brooke Wilson set a top-three mark in the 5000m. Wilson notched the third spot for the Wake Forest all-time 5000m, running 15:59.35.
- At the Visit Winston-Salem College Kickoff last month, Emma Douglass, Amanda Schaare and Robbie Grace took home gold for the Deacs.

- The 2024 spring season gets underway in less than two weeks for Wake Forest, as the Demon Deacons are set to open action out of state in Columbia in the South Carolina Gamecocks' annually hosted 'Carolina Kickoff' event. Team members will have the opportunity to compete in various singles and doubles matchups.
- The Deacs partook in this same event a year ago, which was headlined by a first-ever ranked doubles victory landed by Mia Ahmad/Casie Wooten.
- Wake Forest will hold its home opener on Feb. 17 in a doubleheader versus South Carolina and Campbell.
- A strong core of seven returners make up the Deacons' 10-player roster, led by a senior trio of Ahmad, Wooten and Brooke Killingsworth. Krystal Blanch, Nevena Carton, Jingyi Li and Whitley Pate compose a group of four in the Deacons' sophomore class. Newcomers involve Vanderbilt transfer Marcella Cruz and a freshmen pairing of Sankavi Gownder and Aubrey Nisbet.

- Colton was a five-star recruit and ranked fifth individually in the 2021 class.
- She started all 67 of her appearances at North Carolina, tallying 10 goals and eight assists.
- Nurkin was named 2023 First Team All-Ivy League this past season at Columbia.
- She was named Ivy League Defensive Player of the Week three times during the 2023 campaign and led Columbia to the second round of the NCAA Tournament.
- Colton was a five-star recruit and ranked fifth individually in the 2021 class.
- The Wake Forest women's soccer program recently announced the additions of two transfers (Emily Colton and Paige Nurkin), heading into the 2024 campaign.
