
Wake Forest, No. 12 NC State Meet In Regular Season Finale With ACC Tournament Seeding on the Line

The longtime series will be renewed Friday evening as each program sits on 11 points in ACC action.
WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – Wake Forest men's soccer will conclude the regular season portion of the 2024 scheduled on Friday evening, hosting No. 12 NC State in a massive Big Four showdown.
The Demon Deacons and Wolfpack are currently two of the five programs tied for sixth place in the conference standings heading into the final weekend, as the top-eight seeds are guaranteed to host at least one ACC Tournament match.
Kick-off is scheduled for 7 p.m. and the match will be streamed on ACC Network Extra.

Gates open one hour prior to kickoff for all home matches.
Wake Forest Athletics is committed to providing the Best Fan Experience in North Carolina within a safe and fan-friendly environment. The first 300 fans in attendance will receive a Wake Forest soccer flag while students can be entered to win Wake Forest apparel, a tv and a Nintendo Switch. Giveaway drawings will be at 6:15 p.m., 6:30 p.m., 6:45 p.m. and 7:00 p.m.
Additionally, the night will serve as School Night for Caleb's Creek Elementary School, Moore Elementary School, North Hills Elementary School, Speas Global Elementary School, East Forsyth Middle School and Thomasville Middle School.

The Matchup
- Wake Forest and NC State will reignite a longstanding Big Four battle on Friday night, as the Demon Deacons and Wolfpack will be meeting for the 52nd time dating back to the 1980 season.
- Both programs are among a handful of teams currently tied for sixth place in the ACC standings, looking to secure at least a home first round ACC Tournament match.
- The Demon Deacons are 7-4-5 on the year, with a 3-2-2 record in ACC play.
- The Wolfpack, meanwhile, are 8-2-5 on the campaign with an identical 3-2-2 record in the ACC.
- Of Wake Forest's seven victories on the season, five have come at Spry Stadium as the Demon Deacons have the best home win total nationally (107) over the last decade.
- The Wolfpack are currently five-straight unbeaten with a trio of draws against ranked opponents (No. 2 Stanford, No. 21 Hofstra and No. 24 Virginia Tech) along with back-to-back ACC victories over SMU and Louisville.
- Facing SMU for the first time in program history, Wake Forest had a seven-match unbeaten streak snapped last Friday in a 3-0 decision.
- Wake Forest weathered an early storm from SMU, as the Mustangs were aggressive going towards goal with nine shots in the first 12 minutes of action.
- Despite settling in some, SMU took advantage of a Demon Deacon foul inside the box to convert a 20th-minute penalty kick.
- In the second half, Wake Forest created opportunities with what appeared to be a match-tying goal from junior Basit Umar in the 62nd minute, however, it was called back due to a handball.
- In the 74th minute, Wake Forest was awarded a penalty kick, however, it was stopped by the SMU goalkeeper before the Mustangs added a pair of goals in the final seven minutes of action to secure a 3-0 result.
- Since head coach Bobby Muuss' arrival in 2015 along with the coaching staff of associate head coaches Dane Brenner and Steve Armas along with assistant coach Ade Taiwo, Wake Forest ranks No. 1 nationally in home wins (107), 16 more than any other program nationally during that span.
