- Women's Tennis:
- Over the weekend, the Wake Forest women's tennis team went 2-0 on the road against ACC opponents with wins over Boston College and Syracuse.
- Against the Eagles, the Deacs went a perfect 6-0 in singles action after dropping the doubles point.
- Senior Casie Wooten highlighted the day with a straight-set victory over No. 95 Maria Aguilar (6-1, 6-1). It marked her 11th victory of dual play this campaign.
- On Sunday, the Demon Deacons took the doubles point for the 10th time this season thanks to a come-from-behind victory from senior Brooke Killingsworth and graduate student Marcella Cruz (6-3) on court one.
- The duo trailed 0-3 to open the match before taking six-consecutive games.
- Freshman Sankavi Gownder went 2-0 over the weekend and is now tied with Wooten for the team-high in singles wins (11). Gownder is now on a five-match win streak, her longest of the season.
- This weekend, the Deacs return home for a trio of matches, including a pair of clashes against Big Four foes in Duke and North Carolina on Friday (March 22) and Sunday (March 24), respectively. A battle with fellow in-state rival Elon will directly follow the 3:30 p.m. match against the Blue Devils on Friday.
- Track & Field/Cross Country:
- This past week, the Wake Forest track & field team competed at the 49er Classic hosted by Charlotte. Three Demon Deacons claimed first place finishes in their spring debuts:
