No. 12 Wake Forest Welcomes No. 8 Florida State to The Couch

Coming off a pair of ACC road series victories over Virginia Tech and Boston College, the Deacs return to David F. Couch Ballpark, hosting the Seminoles in a three-game set this weekend.
WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – The No. 12 Wake Forest baseball team returns to David F. Couch Ballpark for a top 15 conference series against No. 8 Florida State this weekend.
First pitch on Friday is scheduled for 6 p.m, Saturday at 4 p.m. and Sunday's finale will begin at 1 p.m. All three games are set to air on ACC Network Extra.

The Deacs and Seminoles will meet for the 133rd time on Friday in the series that dates back to 1962. Over the last five series, Wake Forest holds an 8-7 record, and will look to take a series at home against Florida State for the first time since 2018.

Multiple Safety Enhancements Added at David F. Couch Ballpark
To make it easier for all fans to get to their seats handrails have been installed in all stadium aisles at The Couch. Prior to the start of the North Carolina series, the protective netting was extended out to cover all fans in general admission seating from potential balls leaving the playing field. Additional security cameras will be added to ensure the safety of fans attending games this season. For a full list of upgrades to The Couch, click here.

Epilepsy Awareness Game
- The Wake Forest baseball team will host its annual Epilepsy Awareness Game inside David F. Couch Ballpark on Saturday, April 20 against Florida State, benefiting the Epilepsy Foundation of Pennsylvania and Ryan Lloyd Foundation.
- Fans will have the opportunity to bid on the special-edition, game-worn jerseys through GoDeacs.com until 11:59 p.m. on the night of the game. The starting bid for each jersey is $200.

- Wake Forest has homered in each of the last ten games entering the weekend with 29 total over the stretch.
- In 34 games, the Deacs have at least one homer in all but four, and have 19 multi-HR efforts this season.
- The Deacs left the yard a season-high six times last Tuesday against Coastal Carolina with multi-home run nights from Nick Kurtz and Jack Winnay.
- Wake Forest is one of just 17 teams nationally to cross over the 65 home run mark this season and were just the second to do so in the ACC, trailing just Virginia Tech who has 71 home runs.
- A key factor in the Demon Deacons power game has been the rise of junior Nick Kurtz. Over the last 10 games, the Lancaster, Pa. native has left the yard an unprecedented 14 times.
- Kurtz is one of four Demon Deacons to go over the 10 homer mark this season, joined by Jack Winnay (13), Seaver King (11) and Adam Tellier (10).

- Shortstop Marek Houston has hit safely in 14 of his last 16 games, including eight multi-hit efforts during the hot streak.
- Houston is 28-for-76 (.368) at the plate with 23 runs scored from the leadoff spot over the 12-game span.
- Since returning from an injury that sidelined him for four contests, the Nokomis, Fla. product picked up right where he left off, hitting .367 with 22 hits, 18 runs scored, 10 RBI, five doubles and three long balls over the last 13 games.
