Opponent/Series History
- The Deacs and Wolfpack will meet for the 195th time on Thursday in the series that dates back to 1954.
- Wake Forest has won five of the last six against NC State, including a pair of games a season ago.
Hartle's Heating Up
- Junior lefty Josh Hartle has started to find his groove on the bump over the last few weeks of play.
- Against Clemson on Sunday, Hartle turned in his second-straight quality start, allowing just three earned runs across 6.0 innings of work with a season-high nine strikeouts to just one walk.
- Over his last five starts, the King, N.C. product has gone 5.2 IP in four of his five starts, striking out 31 hitters over the span.
Draco Don Diablo
- Wake Forest got a huge piece of the backend of its bullpen back at the start of April, with graduate student Cole Roland making his 2024 season debut.
- Roland sandwiched a strikeout between a pair of groundballs back to him to complete the win for the Deacs in the ninth on just 12 pitches in his 2024 debut.
- The reliever threw the final inning of Saturday's series clinching win at No. 11 Virginia Tech, picking up a pair of strikeouts in the frame.
- Roland fanned two in the final inning of the Deacs contest against UNC Wilmington.
- Against No. 8 Florida State, he earned his first save of the season on Friday as he retired the side in the ninth with two strikeouts. He followed that up with his first win of the season in the series-clinching finale.
- He needed just 10 pitches to pick up his second save of the weekend against No. 2 Clemson on Saturday.
Rhino's Revenge Tour
- Senior Jake Reinisch has been Mr. Consistent for the Deacs, as he is one of just three Deacs to start every game thus far, and has reached base in all but five games to this point of his final campaign.
- So far this season, the New York-native has racked up 63 hits, 63 RBIs, 16 home runs, 32 extra-base hits and 36 walks.
- The senior has homered in five of the last seven, including a moon shot in the series finale against No. 2 Clemson.
- Reinisch had a hit in all three games of the series in the last road series at Boston College, including doubles on Friday and Sunday and three RBI over the three-game set.
- Against No. 8 Florida State, he hit a home run in both games of the Saturday doubleheader and helped the Demon Deacons take their third-consecutive ACC series.
- Additionally, he ranks high among the Deacs in multiple offensive categories with a .321 batting average, .428 on-base percentage and .658 slugging percentage.
- Reinisch has at least two RBIs 20 times this season to go with 13 multi-hit efforts during his senior campaign.
