PINEHURST, N.C.- Three Wake Forest men's golf alumni are set to compete in the 124th U.S. Open at Pinehurst No. 2. PGA pros Webb Simpson, Cameron Young and Will Zalatoris will represent the Deacs this weekend.
This is the most Demon Deacon alumni to play in the U.S. Open since 2022, where Zalatoris finished runner up at Southern Hills in Tulsa, Okla.
The Demon Deacons have been well represented at majors over the past year, with both Zalatoris and Young finishing in the top-10 at the Masters in April.
Another side note to the distinct history at Pinehurst No. 2, the redesign of the course in 2010 was spearheaded by 1968 Wake Forest alum Bill Coore, returning the course to its original character and playability.

Webb Simpson, the 2012 U.S. Open Champion at Olympic Club in San Francisco, will start off hole ten on Thursday, teeing it up at 8:02 a.m. paired with Justin Rose and Gary Woodland.
