11/7/2025 9:36:00 PM | Women's Volleyball

The Deacs earned their fifth conference win of the season on Friday.

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – Wake Forest volleyball continued home action on Friday night inside Varsity Arena, hosting Notre Dame. The Demon Deacons (11-13, 5-8 ACC) brought energy from the very start, making plays with great timing to ultimately earn a 3-1 victory over the Fighting Irish (8-13, 5-8 ACC).

Senior Paige Crawford enjoyed one of her best performances of the year on the hitting and serving end. The Wimberley, Texas, native posted a line of 17 kills, four service aces and five digs, in addition to a .452 hitting percentage. Her mark in aces tied for a career-best total in a single match.

Two other Deacs joined Crawford as individuals with double-digit kills – junior Patrycja Lagida (16) and freshman Sadie Poeck (10). Poeck also had three blocks. Freshman Ivana Cvetkovic impressed with a match-high seven blocks – her most of the fall.

Graduate student Ryleigh Whitekettle contributed nine kills and six blocks. Sophomore Becca Bellows recorded 27 assists while senior Rian Baker was just short of a double-double – 15 assists and nine digs to lead all individuals.

The Deacs finished with eight aces – their most in a conference match this fall.

From Coach Hulsmeyer
"What a great night for our seniors, their families and our fans," said head coach Jeff Hulsmeyer. "It was an outstanding match – we got a lot of contributions, some of which showed up in the stats and some didn't. Paige Crawford did a great job, super matched by Sadie Poeck as well, and Patrycja Lagida also really stepped up. For us to hit over .300 against such a strong team was amazing. It was an offensive battle tonight and I can't be more pleased with the way we closed out the sets."
