Thank You, Seniors and Graduates
A quartet of Rian Baker, Paige Crawford, Emma Farrell and Olivia Murphy have paced the Deacs this year with veteran leadership and stellar on-court play. Having arrived on campus in fall 2022, the group has since made a significant impact on a yearly basis, including shaking program records and earning a number of accolades.
Rian Baker | Senior | 5-10 | Setter | Rolling Meadows, Ill.
One of the team's primary setters, Baker has led Wake Forest in assists in each of the last two seasons, spending time as a top-10 acc individual in that same area. This fall, she is second on the roster with 401 assists and has notched four double-doubles. Within program history, Baker currently ranks seventh in career assists (2,461) and is tied with classmate Paige Crawford for sixth in service aces (110), being one of three all-time Deacs (joining Julie Cowley '99 and Ashlee Phillips '02) to stand as a top-10 player in both of those career categories.
Paige Crawford | Senior | 6-0 | Outside Hitter | Wimberley, Texas
A consistent arm for the Deacs, Crawford has led the team in kills each season since her arrival in 2022, when she was also named to the ACC All-Freshman team. Within program records, she ranks fifth all-time in career kills with (1,301) and is tied with classmate Rian Baker for sixth in service aces (110). Crawford is again the team leader in kills this fall (263) and also third in digs (160). Her career accolades also include being named a two-time MVP of the annual Wake Forest Invitational, MVP of the 2023 University of Central Florida Challenge and two-time ACC Freshman of the Week selection.
Emma Farrell | Senior | 5-6 | Libero | Norcross, Ga.
Renowned for her defensive prowess as one of the top liberos in the conference over the past four years, Farrell was named the ACC Freshman of the Year in 2022 and has competed as a top-10 league individual each season. She is fourth in career digs throughout program history (1,756), with totals that put her second among Demon Deacons who have competed in the current 25-point rally scoring era. Farrell has finished as a top-10 player on the conference individual leaderboards each season and led the ACC in digs per-set average (4.41) as a freshman. She is the first-ever Wake Forest player to be named ACC Defensive Player of the Week, winning the honor twice in 2023, and has earned three different All-Tournament selections.
Olivia Murphy | Redshirt Junior | 6-1 | Right-Side Hitter | Indianapolis, Ind.
Murphy has shown resilience as an inspirational teammate during her time with the program, making her way back onto the court in 2024 after redshirting for the 2023 campaign due to injury. This past season, she finished fourth on the roster in both kills (170) and blocks (55.0), posting 10-plus kills in five different performances. As a freshman, she appeared in 18 matches while making four starts. Murphy has attained All-Tournament honors twice, happening in hosted invitationals by both the Deacs and Navy.
