No. 13 Wake Forest Set to Face St. John’s in Three-Game Series

The series gets underway with a 4 p.m. first pitch on Friday, Feb. 21.

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – The No. 13 Wake Forest baseball team welcomes St. John's to David F. Couch Ballpark this weekend for three games.

All three games can be streamed on ACC Network Extra. Stay tuned to the Demon Deacons social media accounts (@WakeBaseball) for all in-game updates and information.

Opponent History
Friday's opener marks just the third meeting against St. John's and the first time facing off since 1978. The Red Storm holds a 2-0 advantage in the series.
 
Houston, We are Go for Launch
Junior shortstop Marek Houston earned ACC Player of the Week honors following his Opening Weekend performances against LIU and Marist the league announced on Monday afternoon.
 
Houston went a ridiculous 10-for-14 (.714) at the plate, including 13 RBIs and 11 runs scored over four games during the weekend.

The Deacs pitching staff has been impressive thus far, recording double-digit strikeouts in four of the first five games of the 2025 season. 

Wake pitchers retired 17 hitters via the punchout on Tuesday at UNCG, marking the ninth time since the beginning of the 2024 season that the staff has combined for 17 or more strikeouts in a game.
 
Here Kitty
Senior Chris Katz had a career day on Sunday against Marist, going 3-for-5 (.600), with all three hits going for extra bases. Katz's homer left the bat at 104 mph and traveled 413 feet over the left-center wall. 

Katz stayed hot with a 111-mph single back up the middle against UNCG on Tuesday night.

Parking
Complimentary parking is available in the Starry and Diet Pepsi Lots at the LJVM Coliseum and the Gold Lot at on a first-come, first-serve basis. For those who have purchased season parking in the Couch Ballpark or McCreary Tower Lots, your spot will be guaranteed. No additional parking will be sold in the Couch Ballpark or McCreary Tower Lots on gameday. You are permitted to use one (1) parking space. Occupying multiple parking spaces is prohibited. Tailgating is not allowed in the parking lot, but is permitted in the grassy areas near David F. Couch Ballpark.
 
A limited number of designated handicapped parking spaces are available at David F. Couch Ballpark and McCreary Tower Lots. Patrons will need to display a handicapped placard to gain access. Please let a parking attendant know that you need accessible parking and they can direct you to the proper location.
