The Demon Deacons allowed just two hits against the Red Storm on Saturday.

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – No. 13 Wake Forest baseball cruised to an 11-0 victory over St. John's on Saturday afternoon at David F. Couch Ballpark, limiting the Red Storm to only two hits on the mound while the Demon Deacons racked up six extra-base hits offensively.

Starter Matthew Dallas was electric, holding the Red Storm to just one hit over 6.0 innings of scoreless work with four strikeouts. After a single with one out in the top of the first, Dallas allowed just two runners to reach scoring position through the rest of his outing.

Through the first two games of the series, Wake Forest's starting pitching has allowed just two hits in 11.1 innings, keeping the Red Storm off the scoreboard.

The relief combination of Matt Bedford, Griffin Green and Haiden Leffew allowed just two baserunners over the final 3.0 innings to seal the series on the mound.

At the plate, first baseman Jack Winnay had his fourth career multi-HR game, hitting a pair of home runs to left field in the second and third innings.

Designated hitter Kade Lewis homered for the second-straight day, going back-to-back with Winnay in the bottom of the third with a 338-foot blast to left field.

Sophomore Antonio Morales put together the first three-hit game of his Demon Deacon career with a trio of singles leading to an RBI and run scored for the Deacs' second baseman.

The top five hitters in Wake's lineup combined to go 10-for-21 (.476) at the plate.

FROM COACH WALTER
"It was a great win for the program today, it's always good to win a series. Obviously, we have to come out strong and play well tomorrow. They've got their two best bullpen arms rested and a really good starter so we'll certainly have our hands full tomorrow. I'm really happy with Matt Dallas and our pitching staff today with only giving up two hits on the day. We had too many walks so I'd like to clean that up, but overall really pleased with how Dallas threw. Matt Bedford was really good as well. That's the best we've seen Griffin Green and then Haiden Leffew came in and closed it out. Offensively, it was good to see Marek Houston, Antonio Morales, Jack Winnay and Ethan Conrad do well at the top of our order. Really our first five guys in the order with Kade Lewis up there too had a good day. All around, a good team win and we're going to have to play well to win tomorrow because St. John's has all their bullpen pieces ready to roll. " - head coach Tom Walter
