
Wake Forest Concludes Day One of Penn Relays

On Thursday afternoon, seniors Isabella Gera and Jacob Goldberg competed at University of Pennsylvania.
PHILADELPHIA, PA. - To kick off the weekend, Wake Forest track & field began competition at the Penn Relays with seniors Isabella Gera and Jacob Goldberg competing in the hammer throw.
Gera took the stage first, throwing the hammer 50.97 meters. Goldberg followed with a mark of 55.34m.
Looking ahead, Gera will return to the field tomorrow at the Penn Relays to compete in both the shot put and discus, while teammate Julia Pinter will take on the javelin.
Gera is set to begin competition at noon in the shot put, where she looks to build on a strong outing in which she placed third with a personal-best throw of 15.66 meters, moving her to No. 4 on Wake Forest's all-time list. She will then compete in the discus, her third and final event of the weekend.
Pinter is seeking another strong finish as she enters the javelin ranked No. 6 on the program's all-time list.
Back in North Carolina, several Demon Deacons will begin competition at the Charlotte Invitational starting with hammer throw at 2:30 p.m.

The Demon Deacons will return to the Penn Relays on April 25, while another squad will travel to the University of North Carolina at Charlotte for the first day of the Charlotte Invitational.
