WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – Senior Emma Douglass broke her own women's 800m program record once again on Friday evening, leading the way for the Wake Forest Track & Field program during the second day of competition at the 2025 ACC Outdoor Track & Field Championships.

Douglass, who came into the ACC Championships with a program-best time of 2:03.49, came across the finish line at 2:03.25 to qualify for Saturday's women's 800m final.

The Wellington, New Zealand, native had previously set the 800m record earlier this season at the Wake Forest Invitational. Douglass has also set two other program records during the indoor and outdoor seasons, including the women's 1500m, which she set at the Raleigh Relays with a 4:13.94 performance.

Meanwhile, senior Rynard Swanepoel clinched his spot in the men's 800m final by finishing first in his qualifying heat at 1:49.10.

Freshman Hunter Jones closed out the evening for the Deacs as he finished fifth in the 3000m steeplechase with a time of 8:53.22, earning him second team All-ACC honors.

Earlier in the afternoon, freshman Seren Rodgers battled back across the final three events of the women's heptathlon to earn second team All-ACC honors with a sixth place finish. Rodgers started the day with back-to-back personal bests in both the long jump (5.51m) and the javelin (33.25m), before claiming fourth in the 800m at 2:17.82, moving her into sixth with 5,094 points–the eighth-best finish in program history.
