Senior Luke Tewalt was a notable standout for Wake Forest on Saturday.

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – The Wake Forest track and field program wrapped competition in the 2025 Atlantic Coast Conference Outdoor Track & Field Championships on Saturday night, putting the bow on a day that featured strong showings across the board.

Freshman Rosalind Gergely opened the afternoon with a personal-best mark in the women's javelin, throwing for 49.08 meters. Her performance ultimately resulted as a fifth-place finish while leading to second team All-ACC honors.

Up first for the Deacs on the track, graduate student Rylan Engels clocked a 4:14.67 in the women's 1500-meter, coming in sixth place and earning second team All-ACC honors of her own. Junior Elizabeth Whaley finished in eighth place on a 4:15.05 clip. The pair notched new personal bests apiece in the event. Engels and Whaley's finishes now rank third and fourth, respectively, in the program records.

In the men's 1500-meter, a trio of Wake Forest individuals finished in the top six – Paul Specht (4th place/3:45.53), Luke Tewalt (5th place/3:45.66) and Rocky Hansen (6th place/3:45.73). All three were named second team All-ACC following their efforts.

Solely representing in the women's 800-meter, senior Emma Douglass recorded a time of 2:04.39 – the third-best mark within program history. Meanwhile, fellow senior Rynard Swanepoel turned in a season-best showing in the men's 800-meter (1:46.29), landing a second team All-ACC selection.

Finishing off the night, Tewalt gave admirable effort in the men's 5,000-meter. The senior finished fourth (13:40.50) to again collect second team All-ACC recognition. Tewalt was the lone Demon Deacon to earn all-conference honors for multiple events. Freshman JoJo Jourdon came in seventh place (13:49.26) in the men's 5000-meter while junior Bryce Gilmore reached a personal-best time of 13:59.77.
