The nationally-ranked Demon Deacons got points from graduate student Morgan Ketchum, graduate student Casey Weidenfeld and senior Anne-Sterre den Dunnen as all three players won their matches over top-25 amateur golfers in the world.

LAKE BLUFF, Ill. - For the second time in the last three years, the No. 11 Wake Forest women's golf team captured the Jackson T. Stephens Cup title, claiming a 3-2 victory over No. 1 Stanford Wednesday night at Shoreacres in Lake Bluff, Ill.

Senior Anne-Sterre den Dunnen provided the clinching point for the Demon Deacons, defeating the No. 21 player in the world, Kelly Xu. The Almere, Netherlands native held a 1UP lead on six holes throughout the match and never trailed.

After Xu tied up the match on No. 17, the pair proceeded to tie the next three holes before heading to hole No. 21 in the match. The par 4 proved decisive as den Dunnen drove down the left center of the fairway while Xu found the rough off to the right of the fairway. The Wake Forest senior reached the green in two while Xu's second shot landed in the front bunker. Den Dunnen cozied up her first put and the par was conceded. Xu was unable to convert her up and down for par, giving the Deacs the win in the final match on the course.

This is the second time in the last three years the Demon Deacons have taken home the prestigious title with den Dunnen and Macy Pate both helping Wake Forest win the 2023 title over Texas.

Additionally, the Deacs have defeated Stanford in the last two match play events they have played in, claiming a 3-2 over the Cardinal at Sedgefield County Club at the 2025 ACC Championship Semifinal this spring.

Controlling the match from the beginning on Wednesday and building out her lead to 4UP at the turn, graduate student and Winston-Salem native Morgan Ketchum beat the No. 2 player in the world 4&3, defeating Stanford's Paula Martín Sampedro to claim the first point of the match.

After falling behind by two holes on the front nine, graduate student Casey Weidenfeld battled her way back to even the match on hole 10. Weidenfeld took the lead over world No. 5 Meja Örtengren on the 13th and then took a 1UP lead again on No. 15, this time for good. Weidenfeld and Örtengren tied the next three holes and Wake Forest earned its second point of the night.

In addition to winning the match play title, Pate claimed the individual medalist honors during the stroke play portion on Tuesday while the Deacs also were the only under-par team in the elite six-team field.

How About Them Deacs'?
Wake Forest continues to dominate in match play boasting a 19-2 record since the 2023 national championship. Notably, the Deacs two most recent match play victories were over the Cardinal, the last at the 2025 ACC Championship.
