Wake Forest Hosts SMU in Key January Matchup

The Demon Deacons earned their first ACC road win on Saturday as Nate Calmese hit the game-winning shot in the waning seconds.
WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - After erasing a nine-point deficit to earn a 69-68 victory over Florida State on Saturday, Wake Forest men's basketball hosts SMU on Tuesday evening at LJVM Coliseum for the team's Wear Black game.
Tip-off for the contest is scheduled for 9 p.m. and will air nationwide on the ACC Network.
Last Time Out
Senior guard Nate Calmese sank a game-winning jumper with six seconds remaining to help guide Wake Forest to its first ACC road win of the season on Saturday night against Florida State.
The Gilbert, Ariz., native finished the game with a team-high 18 points on 8-of-19 (42.1 percent) shooting. Calmese also added a team-best four steals and three assists against the Seminoles.
Sophomore guard Juke Harris recorded his 18th-consecutive double-digit scoring game as he tallied 15 points and a team-best nine rebounds, as well as a steal. Junior guard Myles Colvin also recorded 15 points to go along with four rebounds, three assists and a pair of steals.
Meanwhile, junior forward Cooper Schwieger totaled eight points while shooting at a 60 percent clip in just his second start of the season. The Overland Park, Kan., native also logged three rebounds, two steals and a block, as well as a team-best +15 plus-minus.
Defensively, the Deacs forced 16 turnovers and recorded 10 steals, which led to 18 points off turnovers and 16 fast break points.

Wake Forest men's basketball has built one of college basketball's premier home court advantages over the last five seasons, as the Demon Deacons have collected 69 victories at LJVM Coliseum since 2021.
Thirty of those home victories have come in ACC action, tied for the fourth-most in the conference during that span.

Wake Forest's 49 total wins in ACC play since the beginning of the 2021-22 season are fifth-most in the conference during that span.

Sophomore guard Juke Harris continues to pace the Demon Deacons in scoring this season, as he's reached a double-digit scoring total in all 18 games while ranking fourth in the ACC in points per game (20.1).
After averaging 6.1 points per game as a freshman, Harris' 14.0 points per game this year ranks tied as the second-highest increase year-over-year in the nation.
Additionally, Harris is one of only three ACC players – and one of just nine nationally – averaging 20 points and 6 rebounds per game this season, joining Duke's Cameron Boozer, Miami's Malik Reneau and Syracuse's Donnie Freeman.
