Wake Forest, Virginia Tech Face Off Saturday at Cassell Coliseum

The Demon Deacons are riding a three-game winning streak following a complete team performance on Wednesday against Clemson.
BLACKSBURG, Va. - Wake Forest men's basketball will look to continue its current winning streak when the Demon Deacons face Virginia Tech on Saturday afternoon at Cassell Coliseum. This will be Wake Forest's second matchup with Virginia Tech this season, as the Deacs defeated the Hokies 81-78 on Jan. 3 at LJVM Coliseum.
Tip-off for Saturday's contest is scheduled for 12 noon and the matchup will air nationally on the ACC Network.
Last Time Out
The Demon Deacons led for nearly 38 minutes in an 85-77 victory over Clemson on Wednesday evening at LJVM Coliseum. Five Demon Deacons scored in double figures against the Tigers, with sophomore guard Juke Harris leading the charge with his 14th 20-point game of the season. The Salisbury, N.C., native finished the game with 20 points, seven rebounds and two assists.
Harris has recorded double-digit scoring performances in all 26 games this season and is currently averaging 21.3 points per game. Additionally, the sophomore is leading the ACC in scoring as he is averaging 22.6 points against conference opponents.
Sophomore guard Sebastian Akins added 16 points on 4-of-7 shooting from the field to go along with three rebounds and an assist over 30 minutes of play. The Concord, N.C., native did most of his damage from the free throw line as he converted 7-of-8 from the charity stripe.
Junior guard Myles Colvin scored 14 points, all of which came in the first half where he went 5-for-5 from the field and 4-for-4 from beyond the arc. The Indianapolis native also logged five rebounds, two assists, and a steal.
Senior guard Mekhi Mason continued to be a presence coming off the bench as he tallied 13 points, a rebound, an assist, a steal and a block. Meanwhile, senior forward Tre'Von Spillers totaled 10 points on 4-of-6 shooting to go along with his six rebounds, two steals, an assist and a block.
Overall, the Demon Deacons shot the ball at a 54.9 percent clip on Wednesday night, including going 18-for-27 (66.7 percent) from the field in the first half.

Wake Forest's 52 total wins in ACC play since the beginning of the 2021-22 season are fifth-most in the conference during that span.
Turning Them Over
Wake Forest's active defense has recorded 359 turnovers so far this season, third-most in the ACC.
Juke Is Gonna Juke
Sophomore guard Juke Harris continues to pace the Demon Deacons in scoring this season, as he's reached a double-digit scoring total in all 26 games while ranking first in the ACC in points per game (22.6) in conference games.
After averaging 6.1 points per game as a freshman, Harris' 15.2 points per game increase this year is the highest increase year-over-year in the nation.
Additionally, Harris is one of only two ACC players – and one of just five nationally – averaging 21 points and 6 rebounds per game this season, joining Duke's Cameron Boozer.

Young Guards On Point
With senior Nate Calmese sidelined with injury since the Deacs' game against Pitt, sophomore Sebastian Akins and freshman Isaac Carr have carried the load at point guard.
Akins had his best game of the campaign in Wake's 85-77 victory over Clemson, scoring a season-high 16 points while going 7-of-8 from the free throw line. Carr, meanwhile, ranks third in the ACC in assist-to-turnover ratio (3.80) since making his debut in conference action against SMU on Jan. 20.
Scoring Stretch For Mekhi
During Wake's three-game winning streak, the Demon Deacons have gotten three-straight solid offensive performances from senior guard Mekhi Mason. Mason has reached double-figures in scoring during this stretch: 17 vs. Georgia Tech, 10 vs. Stanford and 13 vs. Clemson.
Wake Forest is 5-1 this season when the Gilbert, Ariz., native reaches the 10-point mark.
