Tulsa, Okla. - Andrew Hamar's run at the Polo Ralph Lauren ITA All-American Championships came to an end in the round of 16 in on Friday. Hamar took the first set from fourth-ranked John Isner of Georgia, but couldn't hold on, losing 2-6, 6-3, 6-4.
The junior from Wales was looking for his sixth win in five days, but instead saw his five-match winning streak halted. It marked the fourth straight three-set match for Hamar.
In the consolation bracket, Todd Paul moved into the round of eight. He cruised past 42nd-ranked Matko Maravic of Michigan, 6-3, 6-3. On Saturday at 10:00 a.m., Paul faces 86th-ranked Strahinja Bobusic of Georgia for a place in the semifinals.
