Winston-Salem, NC - The Wake Forest women's track team is ranked 15th nationally according to this weeks Trackwire Poll. It marks the highest national ranking achieved by the team since the arrival of Coach Annie Bennett in 1999.

Four other ACC schools join the Deacons in the top-25, including Miami (No.8), Georgia Tech (No.14), North Carolina (No.21) and Clemson (No.23).

Wake Forest athletes find themselves among the top collegiate athletes in several different events this season. Michelle Sikes has the 15th best 3,000m steeplechase time and the 11th best 5,000m performance. Caitlin Chrisman is the 12th best 5,000m performer in the country this season. Cassy Richards' regional qualifying long jump mark is the 41st best nationally this season, while Lindsay Neuberger's regional qualifier is the 27th best shot put mark of the year.

Senior Annie Bersagel owns the best collegiate score in the 10k race this season. Her 33:02.13 is the best time in the NCAA by 17 seconds and shatters her previous personal and school record that she set in 2002. She was named ACC and NCAA Performer of the Week for her achievement earlier this season.

The Deacons, who finished the indoor season ranked 33rd, look to improve upon that mark and make a strong run at the NCAA Championship when the nation's best convene in Sacramento, CA June 8-11. The USATF Junior and Outdoor Championships will take place in Carson, CA June 23-26.
