Track Finishes Competition At Georgia Tech Invitational

Atlanta, Ga. - The Wake Forest track and field teams finished the regular season at the Georgia Tech Invitational in Atlanta, Ga., on Saturday evening. The teams combined to set ten personal records and five season-best performances.
All Deacon participants in the 1500 meter race ran their best races of the season. Hanna Bremler led the pack, finishing in 4:33.49, good for a 24th place finish overall. Caitlin Chrisman (4:34.08), Michelle Sikes (4:40.24) and Erin Franklin (4:41.46) set personal records in the event.
Lauren Henn sprinted to a new fastest time of 1:05.79 in the 400 meter hurdles, while Jill Ahrens matched her own school record of 11-05.75 in the pole vault.
Michael Bingham earned a regional qualifying time of 21.22 in the 200 meter race, finishing in 12th place in the event.
Willie Idlette fell just short of a regional qualifying time in the 400 meter dash, finishing in his record time 47.44. Chris Catton bettered his ACC regional qualifying performance in the 800 meter race, finishing in a new personal best 1:49.08. Brad Wharton also set a personal record in that race, finishing in 1:52.14.
Sean Stevens ran the 1500 meter race in 3:54.12, the best time of his Deacon career. Jesse Richert (6-08.75) and Mike Hauck (182-03) offered season best performances in the high jump and javelin throw, respectively.
Those Deacons who set regional qualifying marks this season have the opportunity to compete May 27-28 at the NCAA Regionals in Randall's Island, NY.
