Clemson, S.C. - The 11th-ranked Wake Forest men's tennis team lost at 28th-ranked Clemson 4-3 on Friday evening. The Deacons won the doubles point, but dropped four of the six singles matches.

Wake Forest (18-4, 4-3 ACC) suffered its first road loss of the season in 10 matches. Clemson improved to 23-8 overall, 3-5 in the ACC.

The Deacons got off on the right foot by taking two of three doubles matches from the Tigers. Todd Paul and Mariusz Adamski posted an 8-3 win at number one. Cory Parr and Charles Sartor won at the number two position by an identical score.

The momentum did not carry over to singles, though, as the Tigers roared back. Wake Forest picked up its only wins at numbers one and six. Paul cruised past Clement Reix 6-2, 6-1. Jason Morgenstern knocked off Kevin Fleck 6-1, 6-3. It was Morgenstern's 20th singles victory of the year.

The Tigers clinched the match at number five singles where Carlos Alvarez rallied past Andrew Hamar, 3-6, 6-2, 6-3.

Wake Forest returns to action on Saturday in Atlanta against 48th-ranked Georgia Tech.  First serve is scheduled for 2:00 p.m.
